He then went on to release groundbreaking solo and collaborative albums for the next 40 years.. that helped cement Afrobeat as a worldwide genre that went on to influence countless other music forms. And made him an international drumming icon, celebrated by audiences and musicians alike.
These series of concerts celebrate his body of work with songs from selected eras going back to his 1970’s material. As well as a few special unreleased collaborations with Melbourne based percussionist and producer Zhonu ‘Nui’ Moon.
Nui has assembled a powerhouse band of some of Australia's best African and jazz musicians.
