Ever since “I Got Burned” became one of the biggest local songs of 2012, Australia has shown that they love the combination of Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Lance Ferguson (The Bamboos).

Following on from “I Got Burned”, Rogers and The Bamboos twice travelled around the country playing to sold out theatres as well as to over 10,000 people at the closing night of Womadelaide in 2015. That same year they released the acclaimed album The Rules Of Attraction.

But the music that the two of them wrote and recorded when they reunited in early 2024 was a different beast and so required a different moniker. The Ferguson Rogers Process is where Disco discovers that it can get dirty, and Rock finds its groove.  It’s glamour meeting grit, it’s the movie star meeting the hustler. And it’s a deliciously fresh combination of Tim Rogers’ wry lyrics and Lance Ferguson’s innate sense of groove.

Their debut album Style And Or Substance is released on November 15th on Impressed Recordings. With a band lead by Ferguson and featuring members of The Bamboos and Melbourne Boogie maestros Mondo Freaks and with one of this country’s greatest ever showmen on the microphone, these shows promise to be something special.

Lance Ferguson “I like to think that “The Process” in this case is hopefully what happens when someone experiences the music... I hope it ends up soundtracking some wild times.”

Tim Rogers “Working with the Bamboos was such an enormous thrill and a life-threatening joy. These 10 songs are primarily for dancing, which is my second favourite life activity. And perhaps there is some lyrical bawdiness to tickle a bone. Come taste the Process.”
