The Big Day Out had a stellar lineup of Australian and international acts, but according to Sydney Morning Herald's Bernard Zuel, "for sheer quality and excitement, this was the best performance of the day." The band he was referring to was THE DRONES, who will be playing at the Cambridge Hotel on Thursday 22 March. THE DRONES took a lot of people by surprise when they won the inaugural Australian Music Award, beating such acts as Wolfmother and Ben Lee. However for those fortunate enough to have witnessed one of their powerful, searing, emotional live performances, it is clear that THE DRONES are a very special band who will be around long after the current batch of bright stars have faded away.
