From the mind of Illawarra\Dharawal-based trumpeter Nick Calligeros comes his newest and most heartfelt creative project, SOFT SPOT: a sonic celebration of the elation and exaltation we feel surrounded by the people we love most. 

The band’s five members bring this feeling to life through an unabashedly expressive live set that takes influence from post-rock’s enveloping crescendos, the textural sound and samples of ambient electronica and the reactivity and rawness of jazz and improvisation that meld into an ensemble sound like nothing you’ve quite heard. 

After a sold out debut performance in Sydney, SOFT SPOT are thrilled to bring their set to home turf at none other than local live music shrine La La La’s, with an opening set from the inimitable Godriguez, guitarist and master mind behind Godtet.

As a trumpeter, Nick Calligeros has spent the last 10 years presenting cutting edge improvised music in innumerable local projects, as well as playing with some of Australia’s most popular acts including Middle Kids and Tangents and on stages including Vivid Festival at Sydney Opera House, Splendour in the Grass, Woodford Folk Festival and Copenhagen Jazz Festival.
