MMK has gathered the crew to Rock the Backroom

MMK Music Promotions will be bringing March madness with a 12 band line up of Rock in all its forms to The Backroom Brisbane.
Doors will swing open at 1.30pm on March 12th.
This diverse showcase of talent has bands coming from Brisbane, Ipswich, Gold Coast, Toowoomba and Nth NSW.
Come meet the bands and support them through whats been a tough couple of years with covid restrictions placed on venues.
Tickets are $20 through Moshtix on presale or part with $30 on the day.

DAMIEN 10.45 - 11.30PM
(For fans of Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson and Depeche Mode)
Ipswich’s prophet of prose, alt-electro-rock (darkwave) musician DAMIEN is a queer, non-binary artist who powerfully pushes against mainstream conventions with poignant, post-punk political commentaries. 020, DAMIEN's music blends electro rock with elements of both pop and industrial, and pairs this with lyrical content that is simultaneously clever and contagious.

He has been compared to Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails and Gorillaz.

In 2021 DAMIEN released the full length album, 'Girl', which saw was praised for reshaping alternative electronica by Happy Mag.

DAMIEN has received national and international airplay and has frequently featured in local, national and international publications.

Companionship, skilled musicianship and insane energy come together to form active Aussie rock quartet Roadhouse from Brisbane. Four best mates forming in early 2016, they have carved themselves a reputation for a blood pumping live show bolstering a large repertoire of well crafted, catchy modern rock anthems.

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 9pm - 9.45
Valhalla lights are Ange Saul (the Black Lullaby), George Christie (Fort) and Deon Driver (Fort). (See more about Fort here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_(band) Based on the far north coast of N.S.W, Valhalla Lights are a juggernaut of heavy riffs, coupled with the soaring and angelic but powerful melodies of Ange. VL encapsulates volume, with a live show punishing the stage with an intense wall of melodic sound. 2015 saw the release of VL’s debut album, Krypton which was created posthumously using the pre-production vocal recordings of the band’s first vocalist, Phoebe Black, who had tragically passed away just days before the band was to enter the studio.

In a sea of copy indie rock bands, Sunday Sesh have refined their signature sound by creating music that bursts with confidence and just the right amount of arrogance. Originating from the Gold Coast of long-time friends Ethan Ridley, Cooper Young, Zenin Smith and Marcos Robbins who all share an intense amount of passion and drive for their creative vision. Living an unapologetically hedonistic lifestyle, the band reflects this to produce an aurally pleasing sound to captivate and seduce their audience of raucous, rebellious youths. Their outrageous and raunchy lyrics pair perfectly with their harmonious rock sound to evoke emotion, power, and thrill within the listeners. Krave are a dynamically expressive hard rock metal band that will leave you in a state of craze and bone buzzing adrenaline through their heavy riffs, exceptional vocal power and energetic stage presence. Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Krave's influences stem from the likes of Karnivool, CKY and Halestorm.

Toowoomba
The hard rock funk fusion of Goldie Horn will bring the blues delivered with punch. Charismatic front man Jediah Boase is a riff master and adds plenty of skilful guitar to their catchy music. Hailing from the hills of Toowoomba this trio have been bringing their music to Brisbane for a few years now and are keen to bring it to the Backroom in March.

3 𝑯𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑭𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 6pm - 6.30
Based in Brisbane from the Far Nth 3 Hour Flight are a emo pop punk band that gets you bouncing with their uplifting music, now based in Brisbane

𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙐𝙥 𝙉𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝
5.15 - 5.45pm
Brisbane-based Alternative Punk band formed in 2019. Creating an entertaining blend between danceable pop punk anthems paired with crestfallen and haunting lyrics. Known for their energetic live performances and the heartfelt screams of vocalist Lachy Kerr. 2020 saw the band release two EPs and play countless live shows from Fortitude Valley to Ipswich and Gold Coast to Sunshine Coast. Showing no signs of slowing down, Monsters Up North hit the ground running in 2021 and have already made a modest name for themselves in the live scene, sometimes playing 3-4 gigs a week - each more energetic and entertaining than the last. The band are now gearing up to unleash the next chapter in the form of more new singles with pop punk energy.

If Powderfinger, Thirsty Merc and Muse had a sexy retro pop love child you would get the fun loving. high energy physc punk rock combo called Tripsitta. Their debut single, 'The Valley' was an anthem about Brisbane's Fortitude Valley. The Valley is their happy place. a place to catch up with friends and build memories and get great content for new music. They came into the music scene as a good time that didn’t know when to stop. Their music is the sound of the counter culture that lives and breathes in the Australian Night life. Based around upbeat modern indie rock with an emphasis on pre drink pump up anthems with a touch of centerlink. Whether your G’ing up the lads for a night on the town or telling stories about last night’s adventures, these boys have the tracks to become your new best mate.
