Sydney musician and Alt-Rap stalwart, Joel Rapaport launches new album ‘Roadkill’ with live band and supports P.Smurf, Stackhat and DJ Wicked Bandit.

The self produced ‘Roadkill’ is a sentimental and nostalgic zigzag through folky rap, grimey storytelling and boom bap. Songs from the new album will be performed by Rapaport and a live band featuring Dan Pliner, Josh Ahearn, Matt lamb and Ned Olive.

Rapper, guitarist, producer, Rapaport (He / Him) articulates personal thought bubbles, survival mantras and opaque moments through a sound influenced by grime, art rap, jazz and soul. Dense lyrics, dry humour, electric guitars dripped in reverb and a slapping drum break are most of his favourite things.

For 20 years Rapaport has been leaving his mark on Australian grime & hip hop as co-founder of Big Village Records, creator of Sketch the Rhyme, and member of groups Loose Change and The Phonies. Rapaport is currently studying Jazz guitar at Sydney Conservatorium.
