Brisbane's Pink Matter Launch EP "Soul Fruit"

Brisbane neo-soul 4-piece Pink Matter take to The Outpost stage to launch their sophomore EP "Soul Fruit". 

The band have sharpened their teeth over the past couple years with impressive support slots for Mildlife, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Harvey Sutherland and The Internet.

Pink Matter's music is a modern, twisted take on the neo-soul/urban genre with notable hints of Hiatus Kaiyote, Koi Child and The Internet. Described as, “sonic heaven” by Purple Sneakers (2017) and “forward thinking” by Futuremag (2018), the group has forged a signature for themselves through their music and personality.

"Soul Fruit for us is a totally different direction sonically - we experimented a lot with different sounds and textures to create something that sounds quite angular and glassy. Overall the sound leans on synths and the bass/drum groove to set up an electro-soul bed for Kerry’s vocals to sit on top of. We wanted the end to feel more chaotic, like it’s swirling out of control. We’re excited to be showing off a new direction with our music and we look forward to seeing the reactions."
