‘HOT MESS, AN INTIMATE TOUR EXPERIENCE’
”Bringing her same beautiful yet painfully real lyricism, her perfect pitch, her knack for composition – the only difference is that ‘Hot Mess’ seems to allow a little dash of chaos in” - CLASH, 9/10
“Dodie’s songs radiate transparency” - The New York Times
“A musician who can do it all – from sweeping strings, to lilting lullabies and dark pop hits” - Gigwise
The announcement of her debut Australian headline tour ‘Hot Mess, An Intimate Tour Experience’ last December saw dodie immediately begin trending on social media, and all three show dates - Thursday 23 February at the Northcote Theatre in Melbourne, Friday 24 February at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, and Saturday 25 February at The Triffid in Brisbane - sold out in a matter of hours.
dodie is also excited to spotlight incredible local artists as part of this upcoming tour, today announcing the support act for each show: Kat Edwards in Melbourne, andie in Sydney, and Medhanit in Brisbane.
‘Hot Mess, An Intimate Tour Experience’ - scheduled for Thursday 23 February at the Northcote Theatre in Melbourne, Friday 24 February at the Metro Theatre in Sydney, and Saturday 25 February at The Triffid in Brisbane - will see the singer-songwriter deliver her captivating live performances to Australian audiences for the first time.
Late 2021 and early 2022 saw dodie embark on an extensive tour across the UK and North America in support of her debut album Build A Problem, with two sold-out theatre shows at the Ace Hotels in LA, a sold out Kings Theatre in New York, and the UK leg culminating with a triumphant show at London’s Eventim Apollo.
Hot Mess, the latest project from dodie, unpacks the flawed, emotionally erratic, wondrously complex conundrum that is being alive. Featuring singles ‘Got Weird’, ‘Hot Mess’ and ‘Lonely Bones’, the EP is an intimate look into dodie’s world in the period following the release of her 2021 debut album Build A Problem, charting at #3 in the UK.
Further to releasing her debut album, at 27, dodie has already done a lot of living. Some of that has played out online as she made a name for herself as a singer and writer, amassing millions of fans with her disarmingly honest videos and affecting, intimate singing style. dodie has amassed over 1 billion streams to date, with 7 million followers across all platforms, she’s sold out over 100 consecutive shows globally, with performances on Late Night with Seth Myers and Sunday Brunch and has become an ambassador for Depersonalisation charity Unreal.
