Disco Mediterranea and Proto Exotica present to you the debut album and live performance of Exotic Illusions by D.D. Mirage at The Night Cat!

This debut album serves as a cosmopolitan love letter to Italo disco, Neapolitan funk, Nigerian boogie, cosmic house, and lovers' rock—sounds that have deeply inspired the Sydney-based duo since the project's inception. Having first collaborated in the mid-2010s as members of indie-psych bands King Colour and SCK CHX, they now take their musical relationship to new heights with this release. Anyone familiar with their previous EPs on Isle of Jura Records, "Feel It/So Hot" and "Night Time", knows they're in for a real treat.

Supporting D.D. Mirage is Orange Moon. Fresh from their intimate ‘tiny desk-esk’ concert at Fenton Farmhouse, this emerging Naarm-based band will bring their signature blend of jazzy rhythms, ethereal vocals, and cultural percussion from Samoa, Lebanon, Japan, and Korea. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Sade, Yussef Dayes, and Kelela, Orange Moon promises heart, energy, and ass-shaking grooves.

Closing out the night, Disco Mediterranea and Proto Exotica will deliver an eclectic selection of after-hours, genre-bending sounds to keep the energy high until the very end.

We acknowledge that this event will be held on Wurundjeri land of the Kulin Nation and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.
