Groove to Brazilian legends, bossa nova, and original beats at the Duke of George!
Doors 6 pm, Band at 7.30 pm
"Come to Brazil" presented by Georgie Aué
Latin American rhythms, sweet jazz harmonies and a whole lotta groove, get to the Duke of George to hear classic tunes by Brazilian superstar artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Joao Gilberto, Sergio Mendes, Elis Regina and Djavan!
You might even hear some classic pop songs, turned into sambas and capoeira’s! Be whisked away to the 60s by a gentle bossa nova and then get grooving in your seat (or on your feet!) to the infectious rhythms of Brazil. Also be treated to some original songs from Georgie’s latest album – Desert Cry.
Featuring:
Georgie Aué – vocals/piano
Tom Greble – saxophone
Kristian Borring – guitar
Zac Grafton – bass
Alex Reid – drums
“Steeped in the sound of bossa nova and jazz, Georgie Aué’s third studio release is an impressive display of an artist – both pianistically and vocally enchanting, as well as compositionally masterful.” J Underhill, Dingo Australian Jazz Journal, ★★★★ ½
‘…there was plenty to admire in the phrasing of Aué’s vocals, her light touch at the keyboard…a sterling performance’. – S Evans, Independent Weekly
