The PERTH BLUES CLUB presents
The Midnight Jammers + Diamond Dave & the Doodaddies
The Midnight Jammers | 7.30pm
Its back to basics for The Midnight Jammers for this gig with a focus on blues and dance. This gig will be a show case of classic songs from the pen of the great blues song writer, Willie Dixon. From My Babe to Help Me, Seventh Son to Twenty-Nine Ways and more obscure songs like When The Lights Go Out you are in for a treat of blues gems delivered with fun and style.
Steve Rae (vocals and lead guitar). Steve’s lead guitar work conjures up blues riffs honed from the blues clubs of the sixties in south side Chicago. Searing solos punctuated with raw blues riffs, with a distinctive Buddy Guy twang. Almin Fulurija (drums and backing vocals). Sort after groove master Al is always in demand around Perth supporting the likes of Shannon Smith and Mickey Jupp, his unique grooves captures the vibes of the Chicago blues era and his shuffles drives the pulse like no other. Alex Pegrum (bass and backing vocals). Alex is a dark horse on the Perth scene but his style is unforgettable. All groove and class befitting his high distinctions at a London Music college. With an impeccable ear and skill for right line in the right place with right tone. John (The Dr) Smoker vocals harmonica and rhythm guitar. John’s original soul-stirring vocal style, boundless energy and his raw harmonica licks have seen him playing around Perth and the top end for many years. From bands like The Hips, The Roustabouts, The KG Bees to Racy Tayor and Fitzroy Xpress, John has done it all. A wild eclectic mix of country, R n B and blues all washed down with a tinge of Aussie singer songwriter grit and charm.
