The Fat Showgirl is a bold, unapologetic celebration of bodies that refuse to shrink themselves. This burlesque spectacle reclaims space with glitter, glamour, and a whole lot of tease, blending the timeless elegance of classic burlesque with a fierce modern message of body neutrality and self-love. It’s not about being brave or being “inspiring”—it’s about being hot, hilarious, and wholly yourself. 

This is a stage where softness sizzles and curves command attention. Curves? We flaunt them. Rolls? We rhinestone them.  

The Fat Showgirl is more than a show—it’s a celebration. A love letter to the bodies we live in, and an invitation to worship at the altar of radical self-acceptance.

Please note the time indicated on the ticket is the 'Door Open Time' the performance start time will vary from show to show, traditionally with Dinner & Show settings there is 1.5 hours from doors to the start of the performance, so that the dinner service does not interrupt the show. This is only a guideline 

If you'd like to combine separate dinner and show tables, please email team@thevanguard.com.au with both purchasers full name and booking number to avoid being seated separately. Tables cannot be combined on the night.

All children under 18 not permitted including small children and babies. Photo ID is essential, acceptable ID is a current and valid Australian Drivers Licence or Passport. Intoxicated persons will not be admitted. No thongs, steel cap boots, or spiked attire. Dangerous  behaviour including Crowd Surfing, Stage Diving, Moshing and Violent Dancing is not allowed and will result in your immediate removal from  this venue. Inappropriate behaviour at this venue will lead to your banning.
