Presented by Sydney WorldPride
Sydney WorldPride Human Rights Conference
The largest LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Conference ever held in Asia-Pacific region.
Sydney WorldPride will be the first WorldPride hosted in the Southern Hemisphere, featuring the largest LGBTQIA+ Human Rights Conference ever held in the Asia-Pacific region.
The conference will be an immersive three-day program that combines inspiring keynotes, panels and round tables, with interactive workshops, innovative pitching and dedicated networking events. LGBTQIA+ community members from across the globe will come together to tackle the big issues facing LGBTQIA+ communities and develop the skills and networks to effect positive change.
Together, we’ll gather to embark on a journey, with over 60 local and international speakers, including First Nations leaders and elders, LGBTQIA+ activists and campaigners, policy and lawmakers, elected officials, researchers and academics, to dream and amplify our collective vision for equality and justice.
Sydney WorldPride is delighted to confirm Victor Madrigal-Borloz, United Nations Independent Expert on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity, as a special guest keynote speaker.
This conference is for all of us: community members interested in LGBTQIA+ issues; volunteers or staff members at frontline community organisations engaged with LGBTQIA+ justice, science, or health; government policymakers, elected officials and lawmakers; employers and service providers committed to diversity and inclusion.
If you are a community group or not for profit organisations and would like to access the discounted price, please complete this form. Once your submission has been verified by SWP, we will send you an email with a ticketing link for the discounted price.
After more than a thousand LGBTQIA+ people responded to our survey, telling us what they want from the conference, Sydney WorldPride has partnered with Equality Australia, a panel of Community Partners and an International Advisory Board to devise a program focused on:
Community & Culture – building a powerful global movement by understanding our shared cultures and histories, current issues and trends, and the impact of culture on achieving human rights progress.
Justice & Freedom – realising the civil and political rights of LGBTQIA+ people across the world by working together to replace unjust legislation with protective laws that uphold our fundamental rights and freedoms.
Health & Wellbeing – working together to reduce the health disparities faced by LGBTQIA+ people including by tackling systemic barriers to healthcare.
Visibility & Inclusion – celebrating the contribution of LGBTQIA+ people and protecting LGBTQIA+ people within families, workplaces, schools, sporting and other communities.
Sign up to the Sydney WorldPride newsletter and be the first to hear about headlining speakers and session breakdowns later this year.
