If 2022’s Collision was about finding a voice after loss, then Sweetie’s sophomore EP "Punch the Shark" explores the ferocious power of that resurrection. Punch the Shark pulls Sweetie towards the grisly end of their flagship devo-country-punk style, and draws on influences from early riot grrls like The Slits as well as lo-fi grunge rock icons PJ Harvey and The White Stripes. Recorded and co-produced with Party Dozen’s Jonathan Boulet over one weekend on the south coast, Sweetie’s sophomore EP captures all the energy and intensity of the band’s incredible live show. After a huge six months playing sell out headline gigs, joining headline acts The Arctic Monkeys and Lil Nas X on the bill for Lost Paradise NYE Festival and opening for iconic USA garage rock band Black Lips, Sweetie finally hit the road for a string of shows along the East Coast.
