The Sunshine Coast’s best film and TV talent will be on show at the Showdown Showfest film festival in June.

Showdown Showfest is a celebration of the film and TV on the Sunshine Coast. On June 21^st it’s Lights, Camera, Lunch! at Bella Venezia - Behind the scenes with Powderfinger’s Jon Coghill, Hollywood producer Dan Munday and screenwriter Emma Morgan. Friday night it’s the Pacific Islands Filmfest - see award-winning short films from our Pacific neighbours. Then June 22^nd, the Sunny Coast Showdown Showcase premieres seven epic locally-made films at a red-carpet event. Grab tickets from https://www.sunnycoastshowdown.com.au/

Event Highlights:

• Red-Carpet Premieres: Enjoy the premiere of acclaimed director Chris Sun's comedy short film, *Loophole*, starring Hugh Parker and Libby Munro.
• Hello Sunshine 'Lights, Camera, Lunch!': An engaging storytelling event featuring Showdown co-founders and previous winner Emma Morgan.
• Pacific Islands Filmfest: Celebrate the inaugural partnership with Film Fiji, showcasing award-winning short films from the Pacific region. This cultural exchange aims to highlight the richness of Pacific/Indigenous storytelling and provide a platform for Pacific Island creators.

Meet the Stars:

The Showdown Showfest will feature performances from some of Australia’s top actors, including Darren Gilshenan, Rhys Muldoon, Kate Atkinson, Claire Weller Price, James Patrick Reed, and Rory Williamson. Local talent like Noosa actor Lilliana Bowrey, star of Netflix’s *Surviving Summer*, will also shine, bringing a unique charm to the festival.

Supporting Local Talent:

The Sunny Coast Showdown is a not-for-profit event dedicated to mentoring and supporting local filmmakers. It provides invaluable training and opportunities for over 100 local cast and crew members, fostering the growth of the Sunshine Coast film industry. Previous winning films have garnered over 60 international and domestic awards, setting a high standard of excellence.
