Dual frontmen Sam and Jono weave heartfelt, everyday lyrics over big riffs and a masterful rhythm section, as their clever words find resonance in the lives of every Australian. Sad Guy hints at the dread and dramatic ending of relationships, the fear of growing old and alone, and the resolve to get up off the floor and move on. “Yeah it seems overcast, but that never seems to last” declares Jono, before the band drops in, reminding you “this ain’t a love song” if it wasn’t quite clear.
