Join Rob Aspinall and his band for his final ACT show before relocating to Melbourne. Supported by local favourites Koebi Faumui and Groovy Daughter for a night of RnB, Soul, Hip Hop and Jazz at UC Hub, with plenty of new and unreleased songs including features by Emcees MN Cappo, and Taylor Westbrook (SYD).
Rob Aspinall is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ based in Canberra, providing infectious RnB grooves and Neo-Soul flavour to his audiences. Taking influence from the likes of Masego, Jordan Rakei, Hiatus Kaiyote, Robert Glasper and Allen Stone – Rob and his band blur the lines between Jazz, Hip Hop and Soul to create cross-genre intricate soundscapes, with carefully crafted lyrics depicting experiences from self-love to artistic struggle. Rob has performed at local venues including Gang Gang Café and Stage 88 alongside artists such as SAFIA, Koebi Faumui and Chris Endrey, to international stages such as Rhythm Room and Gold Diggers Los Angeles, also making appearances at festivals such as Orange Winter Jazz Festival and Floriade. Rob released his debut single ‘Dorilla’ in late 2022 in collaboration with Emcee MN Cappo. An exploration of genre blending, ‘Dorilla’ represents a cross-section of Jazz and Hip Hop sensibilities as Rob and MN Cappo weave their individual artistries into one track.
