Prita Grealy & The Jazz Hands
Prita & The Jazz Hands is a collaboration between soul folk singer songwriter Prita Grealy and some of her favourite jazz musicians.
Prita Grealy has an extensive catalogue of original and cover songs spanning the last 20+ years of touring both in Australia & Europe with a special interest in Jazz, Soul & Roots. She brings not only a smokey whiskey filled voice & soul folk acoustic guitar style but also storytelling from her travels and a sprinkling of humour and sunshine!
The band consists of: Arvis Mena Lescay, original bass & double bass player (and lead Jazz Hands convert) from Cuba who has just completed his Jazz Studies at Waapa and brings an element of Latin Jazz with his tasty delivery; along with accomplished drummer William Wallace who is renowned for his original jazz style his exceptional taste in hip hop and his impeccable taste in footwear. The youngster of the group but no less of a star is our piano keys player Jasper Lambert who brings not only incredibly creative jazz runs and uplifting chords to elevate all of Prita’s songs, but also a smile & sense of humour that will light up any room!

“You’ll be hooked by her soulful rhythmic songs and captivated by her stunning vocal performance. It’s easy to see why ‘European audiences are sitting up and taking notice of this captivating musician from Fremantle.” Australian Times, UK
After supporting the likes of Simply Red, John Paul Young, and Ed Kowalczyk of the band ‘Live’, Prita moved to Berlin to pursue her international touring dream, and has been busy touring Europe & the UK ever since. 8 years later and Prita has returned to her home town of Fremantle, WA to get back to her roots and launch her new album HOPE.
Most recently singing, recording & writing with Kav Temperley of Eskimo Joe in Freo and working side by side with other high caliber musicians on tour.
She has independently released 8 albums including Prita EP, Bootleg Live, After the Storm, New Life, Live in Dusseldorf, Live in Estonia, Northern Lights and Hope. Her latest album ‘Hope’ is a culmination of her years touring Europe & deep musical friendships with other artists. Her latest single ‘Breathe’ co-written & recorded with Kav Temperley is available on Spotify & iTunes now.
Prita is immersed in the music scene as a full-time singer-songwriter playing festivals and music venues around Europe & Australia, securing airplay on radio, and reviews in the press internationally.
Her unique sound is ‘Hip-Soul-Folk’. It combines her love of Hip-Hop, Soul and Folk with the use of a live loop pedal and effortlessly layering funky urban harmonies, acoustic finger-picking guitar and beat boxing.
Prita has been likened to a Beth Hart, Pink, Adele, and Tracy Chapman.
