Planet of the Breaks is making its much-anticipated return this August, bringing back the vibrant ‘spirit of the breaks’ scene that ruled from the mid-90s to the mid-00s, now fused with the fresh energy of todays breakbeat enthusiasts. Headlining the event we have a true legend of the scene in Kid Kenobi hitting the stage as part of his ‘Reworks Tour’ with a set packed to the brim with original productions and reworks!

Kid Kenobi’s career is nothing short of remarkable. With countless awards and accolades, including being crowned Australia’s favourite DJ for three consecutive years, he’s been a trailblazer in the breakbeat scene for over two decades. His impressive discography features numerous original tracks and over 80 remixes for top artists, including his standout remix of Green Velvet’s ‘La La Land’ and his hit collaboration ‘The Bump’ with Hook N Sling. Ass the first DJ to have a CD series named after him by Ministry of Sound, Kid Kenobi continues to shape the genre, thriving amidst the renewed interest in breakbeat across the US and UK. 

Joining him on stage is MC Shureshock, a powerhouse in the Australian dance scene know for performances with icons like Carl Cox and Goldie. His ability to captivate the crowd has made him a go-to for legends such as Fatboy Slim, Krafty Kuts and Stanton Warriors.

The line-up also features local crowd-pleasers Vinyl Slingers with their energetic live set, Jen-E delivering heavy breaks and basslines and Kenny Beeper bringing his funky style into the mix.
