It's been two long years since Melbourne outfit Miami Horror released All Possible Futures, a game-changing album that put the indie/electronic/pop four-piece in a league of their own. Now, returning with their latest piece of work, Miami Horror share their eclectic new single "Leila" taken from their forthcoming release, a sonic/art experience titled The Shapes. Premiered on triple j's Good Nights and Stereogum, "Leila" is love at first listen. The glitzy, glamorous sunshine of LA, draped in 80s synth melodies and topped with those iconic Miami Horror vocals. "Leila" explores feelings of freedom and creativity with no boundaries or limits; two highly dominant themes helping shape their creative new project. The Shapes is a one-off conceptual release that sees the band delve into rhythm and percussion with influences ranging from the art pop and lyrical wit of Talking Heads to Caribbean funk and African beats.
Having recently announced their two huge block parties at La Di Da in Melbourne's CBD and Portugal Madeira Car Park in Sydney, Miami Horror are thrilled to extend their tour and announce headline shows at Adelaide's Fat Controller and The Zoo in Brisbane. The Shapes is like nothing they've done before and showcases the band's imaginative vision. With the recently announced block parties and now the release of "Leila", the infectious first offering from Melbourne's most colourful four-piece, 2017 is looking to be a huge year.
