There is a beautiful recklessness that comes threaded throughout the music of Australian artist merci, mercy. 

It is the sort of energy that can only be produced with a strong sense of spirit and heart at its core. The evolution of merci, mercy as a songwriter and performer since audiences first met her in 2020, speaks to the clarity of creative expression she has pursued and let flourish.

Like all of her material to date, merci, mercy has never been afraid of exploring emotional vulnerabilities through her music. Navigating mental health issues and overcoming personal hurdles surrounding anxiety and growing up in relationships, she has poured newly gained insights and perspective into LIke An Orchid.

New single ‘Silver Lining’ is a touchstone of Like An Orchid – a moment that provided the alt-pop artist with a moment of creative redefinition. Originally, the song was not part of the Like An Orchid tracklist, but its inclusion has become an important catalyst for merci, mercy when it comes to the vision she is applying to her music moving forward.
