LE PIE 'THE AND HE SAID HONEY, YOU LOOK SO FINE TOUR 2015'
After establishing herself as one of the most exciting new Australian artists of 2015, Sydney's LE PIE has announced the release date of her debut EP
and he said honey, you look so fine as August 27.
Staying true to the DIY ethos that saw her play every instrument on the the five-track EP, the record will be released independently and will feature her hit, debut singleSECRETS, as well as the equally enchanting and successful follow up single JOSEPHINE.
The release will coincide with her embarking on her first ever East Coast tour, where she is set to play shows in Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne and Brisbane throughout August and September.
After quietly uploading Secrets in January, Le Pie instantly began to capture the attention of some of the biggest names in Australian music, with the song's grunge-meets-vintage pop sound gaining praise from triple j, Channel [V], Rolling Stone Australia, FBi Radio, Hhhhappy and Who The Hell just to name a few.
Her follow up single JOSEPHINE also scored airplay on triple j and was again added to regular rotation on FBi radio and Unearthed - as was her song WHEN WE TALK, which was exclusively released as a contribution to the Rice Is Nice Vol. 2 ALL GRRRL Mixtape fund-raising compilation.
Add to that being named a Feature Artist Of The Week and One Of The Top 10 Quiet Achievers Of 2015 by Unearthed, an Independent Artist of the Week nod from FBi, having her debut video for Secrets named the Wild One pick and added to regular rotation on RAGE, and selling out her debut two performances - the list of accolades for this exciting new talent has already piled high and all before her debut EP release.
Le Pie and her band THE SHA LA LAS will now showcase the entire EP as part of the and he said honey, you look so fine 2015 tour, as well as music from forthcoming, yet to be announced releases.
The secret is well and truly out now - Le Pie is an artist you don't want to miss in 2015.
"Plenty of emerging singer-songwriters tackle this brand of open-diary brooding, but few aggrandise that cornerstone fragility with such grit... Definitely a name to keep an eye out for in 2015."
- Rolling Stone Australia
"Gets to the heart of what made that girl group/wall of sound scene so appealing with this ache disguised by a trembling layer of sweetness."
- triple j Unearthed
"Elegantly simple and mesmerising, I've never been more soothed by grunge than I have with Le Pie. #GirlsRule"
- Channel [V]
"Le Pie is Sydney's best kept secret, but not for long."
- Hhhhappy
"She's further asserted her position as an artist to keep an eye on."
- Crack In The Road
