LAKYN
After supporting Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Vera Blue this month, Lakyn returns with his own 'For My Amigos" headline tour of the east coast playing Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide in October. The tour, much like Lakyn's music he describes as "like a reinterpreted bowl of spaghetti Bolognese. You think you've tasted it many times before but you'll soon realise it's a whole new bowl of spag".
When Lakyn writes music, he sees little pictures and films in his head, which is then imbued with his own emotions, memories and views. If you close your eyes while you listen, you might be able to see a bit of Lakyn's world - filled with childlike curiosity and ingenuity. Lakyn's first single View Looks So Good (produced by Kuren) revealed his development from an acoustic songwriter, to an artist bending the boundaries of contemporary genres. His newest track West (released Friday 18th August) takes this to a new level, as Lakyn lays a lush bed of reverb and delay saturated guitar for his voice, giving people "something they didn't know they needed".
