Kyoto Indie Rock Experiments @ Shotkickers

SUBMARINE Records proudly presents “Kyoto Indie Rock Experiments 2024” a unique musical event bringing the raw and experimental sounds of Kyoto's underground music scene to Melbourne. This event features two of Kyoto’s most dynamic bands: Messiah to Ninjin and Kashikoi Ulysses.  Joining them at Shotkickers is Pink Lady.

Messiah to Ninjin, formed twelve years ago, is an explosive alternative rock duo known for their powerful melodies and emotional live performances. Kitayama on guitar/vocals and Natsuko on drums/vocals blend raw intensity with intricate musicality, creating an unforgettable live experience. Their single album "BOMB" has struck a chord with audiences, capturing a range of emotions from joy to sorrow.

Kashikoi Ulysses offers a different yet equally captivating sound. Originally from Ehime and based in Kyoto since 2010, this lo-fi rock band, led by Osamu Osanai, blends indie rock with electronic influences to create a distinctive and experimental musical experience. Known for their introspective and socially conscious lyrics, Kashikoi Ulysses resonates deeply with their audience.

Tour dates include performances at Shotkickers in Thornbury with Pink Lady, The Last Chance in North Melbourne with GUSH and Fan Girl, and The Old Bar in Fitzroy with STAR/TIME.
