Keanu Nelson plays his debut Sydney headline show at Oxford Arts Factory on Thursday 1 May, following the opening of his exhibition at Pass~Post Store and Gallery. From the remote community of Papunya, northwest of Alice Springs, the Luritja artist crafts revelatory audio portraits of place. Collaborating with producer Yuta Matsumura, Nelson will perform material from his 2023 album Wilurarrakutu, fusing Luritja and English language, community-rooted storytelling, skeletal electronics, and hazy melodica dub.
The triple bill expands with Troth, the spectral Nipaluna-based unit of Amelia Besseny and Altered States Tapes’ Cooper Bowman, and the angular mope-folk inversions of Daily Toll. Tickets on sale now.
