With his debut, self-titled EP due for release this Friday, local musician Kagu today announces headline shows for Melbourne and Sydney next month.

Kagu is the creation of Sean Heathcliff, known to many as the co-vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from former Unearthed High victors, Snakadaktal. Fans have warmed to the new project from Heathcliff - debut track 'Shadow of the Wind' caused a stir when it was released online at the end of last year, whilst first official single 'Human' has smoothly permeated the airwaves of triple J and community radio.

A few weeks back, with his profile as a solo artist growing, Kagu debuted his live show on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Melbourne's NGV, treating the gathered crowd to an impressive set of his new material.

These upcoming live shows will again see Kagu recreate the lush soundscapes of his debut EP in intimate surrounds, with the support of a full band, in a line-up that includes former Snakadaktal bandmates Barna Nemeth and Jarrah McCarthy Smith, along with new collaborators Jed Kelly and Kaia McCarthy Smith.

Out this Friday, the Kagu EP showcases Heathcliff's talent for lush, layered, whimsical songwriting. Produced by Dann Hume (Alpine, Snakadaktal, Lisa Mitchell), the four tracks that make up the EP reveal a talent who's a little more chilled, a little more seasoned and self-confident - with his raw ability tempered by the hard-won skill of an artist growing into himself.

Kagu will be released this Friday March 6 via Liberation Music and in Europe via Berlin based tastemaker label Humming Records (Cloud Control, DZ Deathrays and Snakadaktal).
