RUBY JACKSON

Described as ‘the little black dress in your wardrobe, an instant classic,’ Sydney based songwriter, producer and performer Ruby Jackson has positioned herself at the heart of the Australian R&B/Jazz scene.

Since completing her studies in composition at The Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Ruby has been flourishing into a world-class, authentic creator of music with songs that strike a chord with her audience. This can be traced back to November 2022, when Jackson was selected as FBI radio’s Independent Artist of the week for her release ‘Get Around To It’, which quickly became a crowd pleaser for its smooth & classy Alternative R&B touch.

Coming from a jazz centric background, Ruby has discovered a way to create this multi-generational vision of classic music that has a modern twist, drawing on the likes of UK R&B icons Lily Allen, Mahalia and Joy Crookes. Jackson’s authentic sound has allowed her to work alongside some of Australia’s most talented artists and songwriters like Chelsea Warner, Dean Brady and Boy Soda.

HAZTET COLLECTIVE

Eora/Sydney, based spiritual jazz / improvised groove collective HAZTET explore a cosmic vastitude of dense sonic realms, guided continuously by the rich, bountiful osmosis of improvised collaborative experimentation. Profoundly inspired by the music of luminaries Mulatu Astatke, Pharoah Sanders, Joe Henderson and John Coltrane as well as oz legends Barney McAll, Julien Wilson, Close Counters and 30/70, audiences can expect vibrant jazz harmony, percussion driven Afro-infused dance grooves and layered ambient SFX soundscapes.

HAZTET have amalgamated a notable record of live performances since their inception in Oct 2022, celebrated local venues such as Oxford Art Factory, The Pleasure Club, The Lansdowne, Golden Age Cinema,  Lazybones Lounge, and at festivals such as Dragon Dreaming ‘24, The Magikc Meadow Experiment, JAZZ DOOF ‘23 + JAZZ DOOF 2.0 and Kiama Jazz Fest, alongside prestigious Australian jazz acts such as GODTET, The Strides, Manfredo Lament, The Glider, Ella Haber and Ruby Jackson amongst others. The collective have strongly established themselves as valued contributors to the fast expanding Eora inner west underground ‘JAZZ DOOF’ culture. To kick off the year, HAZTET released their debut single in collaboration with Adelaide producer & founder of the CG Discs label Anton Levings aka. LEVOS, titled ‘deadset’.

In April ‘24, the collective recorded live takes at Golden Retriever Studios, Marrickville, engineered by the illustrious Yianni Adams (Ball Park Music, Kyoshi, Ella Haber, Betty). The resultant debut EP is under production and expected to be released early 2025, with a key single “SESH TECH” scheduled for release prior to the new year.

From July-Sept 2024, HAZTET made their international debut in Europe, making waves during a series of festival, doof and club appearances including Goulash Disko (Croatia), Mumush (Romania), Santsat and Pontoon (Budapest) and many more, alongside prestigious EU acts such as Jazzbois, New Fossils, and Hakumba.

Fronted by Perth born multi-instrumentalist Harry Tompsett, HAZTET features a unique and varying assortment of Australia’s most exciting emerging creative artists.

HEAPS GRASS

Heaps Grass are an experimental folk    trio    based in Eora/Sydney, with Lachie Mills on    guitars/effects, Ebony Tait on keys/vocals

and    Jack Rosenzweig on drums.    Although they are a relatively new band, they have already carved    out    a space for    themselves    in the Sydney music scene, providing a unique    and     fresh sound. With influences such as    Adrianne Lenker, Madison Cunningham and Elliott Smith, they are drawn to melodic songwriters for inspiration.

The trio first met at Sydney Conservatorium of Music while studying Jazz Performance, and    quickly    found that they    loved writing together. Exploring    themes    of nostalgia and nature in their lyrics, they combine improvised and    written    music to create     a lush and whimsical soundscape.

LEVOS

LEVOS is the solo project of Adelaide born and Sydney based producer/DJ Anton Levings. Currently releasing music and running parties through his record label CG Discs in Sydney. He produces lush and emotive music that is just as enjoyable on headphones as on a dancefloor. Pushing Sydney’s dance music scene forward with DJ sets that range from eclectic selections of

rare afrobeat, samba and disco records to peak time garage and bass music. He is one of Sydney's most exciting young talents making an international festival debut last year at Terra Kontra x N2K Pavilion in Hungary and Australian festival debut at Dragon Dreaming in Wee Jasper. With performances supporting Mark N, Papa Nugs (UK), Denham Audio (UK), Mani Festo (UK) and appearances at renowned Sydney clubs and events including the Abercrombie, Carousel, Dayshift and his own

underground warehouse events with CG Discs; LEVOS is one to watch.

SUBJECTIV

Subjectiv creates a mix of psychedelic infused hip hop and jazz. Drawing influence from a diverse range of soundscapes including breakbeats, samba and jungle to create music that pushes beyond the boundaries of traditional sample based music.
