Helen Ryder is a Melbourne based singer blessed with a rich distinctive vocal sound, who's an accomplished performer, drawn to songs with a strong story to tell.

Her debut album 'Someday Love' is eleven tracks of lush country and soul infused pop, recorded with some of Australia's finest musicians. The carefully chosen songs are from the mid-60's to late 70's, penned by some of the great writers of the era. The result is a beautiful selection of songs reinterpreted with great feeling.

The first single 'Lady Bird', a duet of cowboy psychedelia featuring Spencer P. Jones, was released in July along with the video, and launched as part of the 2015 Leaps and Bounds Music Festival.

The gorgeous ballad 'Hushabye Mountain' orchestrated with strings and characterful double bass adds to the atmospheric's of the album.

"Recording 'Someday Love' was an opportunity to sing some of the best songs ever written with some of my favourite musicians," Helen explains.

Joining Helen will be Bruce Haymes on keyboards (Renee Geyer), Shane Reilly on guitar (Lost Ragas), Garrett Costigan on pedal steel (Don Walker), Jack Howard on flugelhorn (Hunters and Collectors), Biddy Connor on violin and viola (Jen Cloher), Steve Hadley on bass (Tex Perkins) and Peter Luscombe on drums (RocKwiz Orkestra).

Very special guest Spencer P. Jones (The Johnny's,The Beasts of Bourbon) will once again be singing with Helen on her debut single 'Lady Bird'.

Join Helen and her very special band as she launches 'Someday Love', supported by the talented Jack Howard and Nicky Del Rey.

"A beautiful selection of songs interpreted with great feeling and backed by some of Australia's finest musicians." - Brian Wise, Off The Record / RRR

"Helen Ryder's debut album is way overdue. To me, it sounds like the soundtrack to a romantic movie: Old Hollywood - romantic, wistful and moving. The voice is exquisite and the playing is beautiful." - Jeff Jenkins, The Music / ABC radio

JACK HOWARD

"Jack Howard has been described as "one of the great quiet achievers of Australian music". He was an integral member of Hunters and Collectors; and along the way, he's also performed with Midnight Oil, Rodriguez, The Violent Femmes, You Am I and a host of others. He's also been releasing his own critically-acclaimed CDs for the last fifteen years. His latest is Day Of The Dog which features, amongst others, his long-time musical compadre, Nicky Del Rey. Together, they'll be playing beautifully stripped-back versions of Jack's great songs."
