Gernz is celebrating their single launch with friends Sexy as Shit, Corduroy, and The Short Sleeves for a night of punk and partying.

Gernz together with Cave City Promotions brings you the Gernz Single Launch Party!

Gernz have been playing live shows at pubs, clubs and backyards throughout 2024, but kept things pretty quiet while they focused on the art behind the band. Gernz was started in Mount Gambier, South Australia and the three of them have played together in other bands for years. If you like grungy, punky, Ausrock, they might just be your new favourite band, that not many people know about yet.

In December 2024 they released their first song “It’s been a while...” with a music video and something they’re calling “the chill out sessions” – The song is an energetic, bouncy track full of raw, catchy moments. It’s the first song they wrote, the first song they recorded and the first they play at their live shows. It’s dark, playful and a great introduction to our sound and vibe. On the 31st of January, they’ll be releasing their second single titled “Apprentice Tradie”. This is a dumb, funny, punky tune that pokes fun at their little apprentice mates. They’re having fun but also showing our love and appreciation for the legends too.

Opening the night will be Corduroy; a local indie rock band of high school students with a a true passion for music. Corduroy has been a band for just under a year but they’ve been performing together for years. They currently have two songs available on all streaming services. Two songs that they’ve worked very very hard to write, record and produce.

Next up will be The Short Sleeves; an indie rock band new to the scene keen to get out there and make a name for themselves! They’re very versatile in genres and play a range of material including original music.

Headlining the show will of course be Gernz. Liam, Frosty and Kyle have played in other bands for years and found that at the end the night after a gig, it’d be the three of them having a laugh, mucking around, talking about life and music together. They’ve brought that chemistry to their song writing and really put a lot of thought into how they can give you an honest and realistic look into their lives, bringing you into the room with them, to share one of those late night conversations.

Closing the night will be Sexy as Shit (SAS); an indie music duo from Berrin/Mount Gambier, South Australia. Members “Cowboy” Collins and J.J. King see no boundaries when creating music, drawing influences from 2000’s indie sleaze, 80’s synthpop, and everything in between. The end result is “not dance music, but music you can dance to.” Paired with their bombastic live shows, Sexy As Shit are not only making waves but surfing them too. This lineup is guaranteed to make your night as entertaining as it gets and it will be a show you won’t want to miss!

Come on down to the North Gambier Football Club on February the 21st from 7:30pm to midnight, bring some friends, and help the boys from Gernz celebrate the release of their two new singles.
