The creative partnership of acclaimed mix engineer Antonia Gauci (Kesha, Troye Sivan, 700 Feel) on vocals, seasoned live performer David Gauci (Flowertruck, Hatchie) on guitar and creative multi-hyphenate Felix Lush (Brooke Candy, JamesJamesJames) on bass arrive with their debut mixtape Growing Pains. Together they balance the organic energy of a live band with digital instrumentation, studio and bedroom production techniques, helmed by their studio training and seasoned live performance experience. An invigorating take on the universal, coming of age story and modern rock/pop classics through a spectrum of genre, Growing Pains is as much a self-deprecating middle finger to supposed feelings and actions as it is charged with emotional clarity. Their mixtape debut arrives with all songs written, recorded and produced collaboratively as GAUCI, with the addition of DMA's Matt Mason on co-write ‘Eat My Words’. Musing on friendship, courtship, loss and adulthood, dissecting the triumphs and necessary complexities of living, Growing Pains is GAUCI at their most adventurous, unrestrained and shamelessly direct. Galvanised by the freedom to authentically express their range the wallflowers of the past now step into the spotlight, only just scratching the surface of their own possibility.
Featuring special guests Darcy Baylis, Holliday Howe and Aya Gloomy (DJ).
