Event Details

FREQS & GEEKS showcases electronic artists from Lutruwita/Tasmania — emerging, established, and everything between.
A space for the unclassifiable. Hypnotic, chaotic, euphoric, and raw. Textures that swallow you whole.
Live. Local. Electronic.

Jordan Marson

"Jordan Marson (FKA Oceans) is an experimental noise artist based in Nipaluna, Lutruwita, whose practice is a personal investigation of possibilities of sound, electricity, and amplification. Leaning into the territory of noise, it can be harsh, but also joyful - and is often both - aiming for a painful bliss that exhilarates and chastises in equal measure." - Andrew Harper

VARX

VARX is an emerging ambient electronic artist who crafts immersive soundscapes by blending everyday dialogue with found sounds, synths, pedals, and live instruments. Drawing from a passion for drones, improvisational techniques and a long background as an audio technician, VARX creates music that transforms familiar moments into something new, offering listeners an intimate experience where the ordinary is made unfamiliar. Incorporating found sounds and snippets of random dialogue, piece invites reflection and discovery. VARX’s approach is a dynamic mix of organic and electronic elements, exploring the space between silence and sound that is immersive and deeply atmospheric.
