Melbourne-based singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Fractures releases a
5-track EP titled Reset via Caroline Australia today.

Fractures, AKA Mark Zito, has the ability to blend a variety of genres - creating interesting combinations that pair lush production and infectious pop hooks with haunting narratives. He's won a wide range of fans and praise from his peers including Gotye and Chet Faker for his diverse, alluring sound.

Reset is a dynamic project that balances between soft, captivating vocals, pulsing synths, and rich, textured production featuring intricate guitars and electronic tones. Fractures' lyrics, alternating falsetto and strong, layered vocals, and instrumentation mimic dark and light, hope and the need for perseverance.

Mark Zito of Fractures confirms the EP was inspired by a stagnant, indeterminable period in his life where he was forced to "take stock of both what had come and what was coming." He says, "the EP encapsulates something of an in-between and a shift to bigger and hopefully better things...songs like 'Reset', 'Dawn' and 'Splinter' are a meditation of sorts on how it pays to break a pattern and make hard decisions in order to gain momentum and get out of a rut."

Speaking of lead single and EP title track, 'Reset', Fractures says: "The song encapsulates the essence of the EP, and the time it was written in. Like many of the songs it was written in a stagnant portion of my life - something of a longing for bigger and better things."

"It was written kind of in the midst of a realisation that I'd lost sight of what I was trying to achieve in the first place, and that I'd need to shift my perspective to bring it any closer to realisation," he says. "It's also a reflection of my readiness for change."

After releasing two accredited LPs, 2014's Fractures and 2017's Still Here, Fractures (who currently sits on 38M+ streams on Spotify and Apple Music combined) made his debut on FADER Label in 2018 with EP track "Sculptures." Billboard called the track "haunting, ethereal." Fractures then released another EP track "Dawn", as well as a stunning cover of Benny Blanco's "Eastside" which earned over 100K streams in less than a week.
