Echo Livehouse is the sequel to the highly successful Aurora in July, brought to you by the UNSW Chinese Musician Society in collaboration with OVERDRIVE Indie Musician Society Sydney. Featuring five cutting-edge rock bands, this electrifying event promises to immerse you in a fusion of sound, energy, and atmosphere, elevating your live music experience to new heights. Let the echoes of indie rock resonate as you dive into an unforgettable night of performances!

No Return:

The band features bassist Augus, guitarist Ethan, keyboardist Neo, drummer Charly, and vocalist Neo. Their music blends pop rock, psychedelic rock, punk, J-rock, and metal, creating a unique sound. The name "No Return" was inspired by a warning sign Ethan saw on a journey, symbolizing the band's passionate and fearless style.

Summer Republic:

Welcome to the world of Summer Republic, a dynamic and versatile band formed in 2023. The lineup features Aron as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Eason on electric guitar, Xuan Rui as the lead guitarist, Felix on bass, and Nick on drums. Their music style is a vibrant mix of genres, including post-rock, reggae, and pop rock, showcasing their ability to innovate and entertain across different musical landscapes. Their trumpet player injects a distinctive flair into their classic rock band setup, adding an unforgettable and unique edge.

Synthetic Blue:

Synthetic Blue is a 6-piece Chinese-Australian band hailing from Sydney, Australia. Formed in 2023 by a group of passionate university friends, their sound is influenced by artists like Plini, Covet, and American Football. They aim to craft a unique sonic identity by blending diverse genres with their Chinese heritage. With each member’s distinct musical background—from progressive metal and math rock to RnB, jazz, and classical—you will experience the fusion sound of these genres. Synthetic Blue is ready to carve out their space in the music scene with a mix of original tracks and covers.

HOLOgram Eye:

Transformed from ‘Voice in Panda’ at the dawn of 2021, HOLOgram Eye is breaking out of isolation to invigorate the music scene with incredible energy and irresistible melodies! The band’s mixed culture fuels their songwriting; their varying backgrounds and life experiences shape their music with the common goal of empowering the audience. They often say in their live gigs: "Our audience doesn't just come to watch! You are part of our band; you’re going to dance, sing, and do crazy stuff with us in our show all the time! So in our show, basically everyone will become band members of HOLOgram Eye! We create art together!” Blended with cool grooves, strong melodies, storytelling lyrics, casual attitude, and funny personalities, their sound is a mix of Japanese rock, zen, funk, alternative rock, punk, and surf rock, influenced by Nico Touches the Walls, L’arc-en-ciel, One Ok Rock, Linkin Park, and New Pants.

Last Elden:

An old-school metal band whose style spans hard rock, heavy metal, thrash metal, glam metal, and melodic death metal. Each member possesses extraordinary talents and their own unique skills. They take you back to the golden era of the '70s-'90s metal music, blending unmatched speed and power.
