Deep South Roots and Blues Festival Comes To The Governor Hindmarsh in December
Gravy Train Promotions, a vehicle for promoting mostly original South Australian artists locally and nationally and eventually overseas, are proud to announce Deep South, a huge blues and roots music event taking place on three stages from 2.30pm until very late at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Saturday December 1.
Gravy Train Promotions, which has already staged four very successful Roots Nights at the venue during the past year, has engaged the services of over 20 artists for Deep South.
These include interstate acts Fiona Boyes and Hat Fitz & Cara Robinson alongside:

Snooks La Vie & The Reprise
Sweet Baby James & Rob Eyers

Billy Bob's BBQ Boys
Steve Brown Band
Nikko & Snooks

The Governor Hindmarsh's main concert area will become The Starry Night Stage for Deep South, while the venue's dining room will become The Purple Pit which will also host a late night session. The front bar area will be Billy Bob's BBQ Barn House Jam Room which will be hosted by guitarist and singer Billy Bob Rankine in much the same way as Monday evening's Billy Bob's BBQ Jam at the Grace Emily.
Other Deep South activities will include family friendly ones such as face painting, arts and crafts stalls and a children's menu with the kitchen staying open for all meals until 9pm. There will also be a series of door prizes (including double passes for Roots Night Six in January of next year and CDs by participating artists) that will be announced on the day along with merchandise and artist signing sessions.
Gravy Train Promotions are striving to put local South Australian original artists into the public eye by increasing awareness of the great and abundant musical talent that is on our own door step.
It began with the advent of Roots Night which promotes well-established artists and upcoming acts.
and allows audiences to experience artists they may not be familiar with or have seen before. It also allows these artists exposure to a bigger and wider demographic and presents them with an opportunity to establish new contacts.
