A superb mix of the songs and stories of two Jazz house Greats!

Doors 6pm, Band at 7:30pm

Duke of George presents

Body & Soul

The Music and Moods of Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse

The soul and surge behind the Duke, Renee Lee Taylor, presents a show of her own! A superb mix of the songs and stories of two Jazz house Greats - Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse.

Joined by Gillian Moorman on vocals and a sensational 5-piece band including an outstanding rhythm section, brass and keys, this show will delight with the extraordinary moods and music of two Jazz house greats.

Prepare to wine and dine and be taken back to a Harlem New York Jazz Bar with the first set presenting the hauntingly melodic sounds of Lady Day's songs from the 1930's era.

Move along 70 years to the “Naughties Decade” and discover a new blend of Jazz Blues vocals with just as much “soul for sale”! The incredibly unique songs and vocal style of Amy Winehouse, which shone through as gems in a decade of Grunge Rock and sensationalised pop.

Two of the worlds notoriously infamous Jazz & Blues female Vocalists, both Lives cut tragically short, both with the ability to sell their soul through their music. Renee presents what she hopes is the first in a series of Supper Club presentations “Life in a Jazz House”.
