The Bertie Blackman forthcoming Sydney performance has been cancelled due to the release date for the new album being delayed.
Bertie would like her fans to have an opportunity to hear the new album before coming to see her perform them live.
Ticket monies will be refunded to the purchaser and Bertie apologies for any inconvenience and the show will be rescheduled at a later date.
Here is a link to my latest track WAR OF ONE...
Bertie Blackman first began to turn heads when her sophomore album Black (2006) proved a triple j fan favourite, kickstarting a groundswell she capitalised on with the 2009 follow-up Secrets And Lies which earned her an ARIA for Best Independent Release, a swag of AIR awards including Best Independent Artist and two entries in the Hottest 100 that same year.
Performing in Sydney and Melbourne only this September/October, Bertie will showcase her latest long-player as well as a new sound typified by pop anthems and sly torch songs filtered through a hazy 80's prism.
"It's my coming-of-age pop record" Blackman says of The Dash. "Big hooks, big vocals, direct feelings. It feels like I've cleaned out all those cobwebs and it can stand in its own right. I'm not hiding behind anything."
'War of One' was conceived with the help of a Sydney production duo comprising multiinstrumental Dave Jenkins Jr (Kirin J Callinan, Andy Bull) and electronic composer Ross James aka Lanterns (Thelma Plum).
"A rumbling chariot on monster truck wheels, unstoppable. Blackman is at war with herself... and it sounds like she's winning." - TheVine.com.au
