The Backyard Banjo Club are a six-piece trad-jazz/bluegrass bonanza. Think Tom Waits meets Django Reinhardt and plays a folk cover of a Radiohead tune. High energy up-tempo vibes and the occasional sultry ballad, good times guaranteed.
From sell-out Melbourne shows to folk clubs around the country including the 2024 Woodford Folk Festival, Yackandandah Folk Festival and Tablelands Folk Festival, the Backyard Banjo Club bring tongue-in-cheek stage banter and a healthy dose of instrumental finesse to the stage.
Violin, sax, accordion, bass and the beloved banjo, our second EP ‘Campfire Sharks’ is a janky mid-tempo record with lush harmonies, intriguing lyrics and more than a couple of odd rhythmic ideas.
