Excited to be one of the only awards ceremonies that can safely take place live & with an audience during Australian Music Month, we are looking forward to celebrating with the South Australian music community, while looking forward to 2021. As a UNESCO City of Music, Adelaide has become a hub of creativity for musicians in recent years, with national and international attention being drawn to the amount of artists who have been taking their art beyond SA, out to the world.
 
 The South Australian Music Awards exist to recognise, promote and celebrate excellence in the South Australian contemporary music industry.
 
 In accordance with South Australia’s current restrictions and COVID-19 safe protocols, the SAM Awards will take place across the UNIBar University of Adelaide’s Cloisters and Lawns. Moving the event from its usual indoor format, to a larger sheltered semi-outdoor one, not only provides safety for everyone involved, but it also gives attendees a chance to take advantage of a warmer climate, laidback energy and celebratory vibe.
 
 Once again, the award categories will include both People's Choice Awards, voted by the public, and SAM awards, selected by a judging panel of local and national industry peers. View the 2020 categories here and judging panel here.

 The ceremony is an open event, available for anyone 18+ to attend.

The venue is wheelchair accessible.

 Please note strobe lights and smoke may be used in performances during the ceremony.

The SAM Awards will be filmed, so please be aware that you may feature in the official event footage.

 General Admission tickets: $40 including bf

 Your ticket includes a complimentary drinks package that runs between 6PM and 9.30PM. 

 Food by Pizzateca will be available for purchase from Adelaide Uni Bar from 6PM – 9.30PM, and drinks available for purchase from 9.30PM.
 
 Alongside Music SA, this year's SAM Awards will be presented in conjunction with major partners; Government of South Australia (through Music Development Office), The Music and Australian Hotels Association. The SAM Awards also acknowledges the continuing support of the City of Adelaide.
