Under 18s Shows: For shows advertised as Under 18s, these are Alcohol Free and strictly for patrons between the ages of 14-17 years only. All patrons must have valid photo ID. Due to VIC Liquor Licensing Laws, Over 18s patrons cannot attend these shows unless otherwise specified on the event page. If the page says ‘Under 18s’ then no patrons over the age of 18 can attend, this includes parents and legal guardians.
Dress Code: Neat casual. No singlets. No thongs.
Passout Policy: Depends on the event. Generally there are no passouts unless otherwise advised by the venue on the night of the event.
Box Office/Ticket Sales Info: Moshtix sales generally close 1 hour before Doors Open Time. Please check the event page regularly for updates. This venue does do Door Sales, subject to availability. If the event is Sold Out, then tickets will not be available for sale at the door.
Venue Ticket Collection Policy: For tickets purchased through moshtix, all tickets are emailed to customers. You can either print your tickets or present the PDF ticket on your phone for scanning upon entry. Screenshots of tickets will be denied and cannot be used. Should you forget your ticket or have issues with loading it on your phone, present your valid photo ID to the box office staff upon entry for assistance. Note: this requires the customer’s name to be entered into the account used at the time of the booking. Only the original ticket purchaser or the person with ID matching the name on the ticket can be assisted in these types of situations. If details were entered incorrectly at the time of purchase then moshtix and the venue take no responsibility if entry is denied, with no refunds or exchanges possible.
Getting There
Situated between Bourke Street and Lonsdale Street, 170 Russell is easily accessible via public transport with plenty of buses, trains and trams within close proximity.
Parliament Station & Melbourne Central are a short 10 minute walk from the venue. Alternatively, you can catch a tram up Bourke Street or a bus up Lonsdale Street, and get off at the Russell Street stop, with the venue being a short 2-5 minute walk from either stop.
Parking: No parking at venue. Wilsons parking is next door to the venue. Charges apply.
Facilities
Mode: General Admission Standing. There are no reserved areas. There are some booths, however these cannot be reserved.
Smoking Policy: Smoking is not permitted inside the venue, however there is a dedicated smoking area accessible via the stairs to the right of the merchandise stands. You cannot take drinks into the smoking area.
Cloakroom: Cloak Room facilities are available at a cost. The Cloak Room is located between the Mac Bar and the Merchandise Stand.
Merchandise: Merchandise is available at select shows. The Merch Stand is located on the left hand side of the venue, and is just past the Mac Bar and Cloak Room.
ATM:There is an ATM machine within the venue, located on the left hand side of the Mac Bar.
Eftpos: Eftpos is accepted at the bar.
Accessibility Info
Companion Card Access: This venue accepts companion cards. Simply purchase your ticket and contact moshtix to arrange access for your Companion. You must have a valid Companion Card and Photo ID to match when attending an event. Note: for any events with VIP Packages or extra inclusion items, access for the Carer only includes event entry. Should your Carer wish to take advantage of the package extras they will need to purchase the VIP Package tickets. No discounts apply for the full packages.
Accessibility: 170 Russell is an underground venue in a basement, so there are quite a few stairs at the main entry. Lift access for customers can be arranged. Customers need to contact the venue to organise this after tickets have been purchased. Please ensure you give plenty of notice to the venue so they can arrange assistance in advance of the show you're attending.
Wheelchair Accessibility: There are some areas that Wheelchair patrons can easily access, however there are no dedicated wheelchair viewing platforms. The venue will assist where able, however they cannot dedicate a special area nor guarantee other patrons will not get close nor obstruct another patron’s view.
Bathroom Facilities: For any new visitors to the venue, the bathroom facilities are accessible. Toilets are located near the main internal entry, on the left hand-side of the Mac Bar.
Disabled Parking: There is a Wilson’s Carpark right next door to the venue. Customers will need to check availability with them. Spaces cannot be reserved via moshtix nor the venue.
