Sydney’s Iconic Club Chinese Laundry Has Officially Re-Opened!

Known for its rave rooms and dedication to electronic music, Sydney's legendary club, Chinese Laundry is back and better than ever, after a four-year hiatus!

Chinese Laundry's Sussex St location has an illustrious history dating back over 100 years. The venue became notorious in the '60s for hosting underground parties, both legal and illegal, to celebrate music, expression, and freedom. A then 24-year-old, Justin Hemmes, took the reins in 1996 and drove the club to international stardom. Chinese Laundry was a key platform in supporting emerging talents like Flume and Dom Dolla, while hosting electronic luminaries such as Sasha, Jeff Mills and Goldie.

Relentlessly pursuing Merivale's mandate to ignite Sydney's late night music scene, Chinese Laundry's long overdue revival will be under the guidance of Nergal Youkhana, the curatorial force behind Melbourne Sub Club, who is deeply intertwined with the venue's colourful history. With state-of-the-art Martin Audio systems, revamped DJ booths, minimalist lighting, and its renowned rave rooms, the club promises an immersive experience like no other. Embracing a fresh approach to music programming, expect a vibrant mix of local crew takeovers, curated sets by industry figures, label showcases and exclusive album release parties.

Chinese Laundry is now open, grab your tickets now to experience the iconic club for yourself! This is a comeback you won't want to sleep on.
