Flickerfest International Short Film Festival Program Announced For 2020
Flickerfest International Short Film Festival has announced the full list of short films selected to be showcased over 10 days at the iconic Bondi Pavilion this January.
A record 3,500 entries from over 100 countries were received for Flickerfest 2020, with around 200 of the very best shorts screened at the Festival, across 17 competitive programmes and four showcase programmes.
Key highlights include the Australian premiere of Chicken by Papua New Guinean-Australian director and writer, Alana Hicks. The Australian Premiere of The Diver a film by Michael Leonard and Jamie Helmer which had its world premiere at Venice Film Festival, Backpedal by Dani Pearce which will have its international premiere at Sundance and Closed Doors by Hunter Page Lochard and Fred Carter Simpkin featuring an all-star indigenous cast including award-winning actor and director Wayne Blair, in its World premiere.
