Shannade Clermont — one half of the Clermont twins, an insta-baddie powerduo— has been arrested and charged with fraud and identity theft.

On Wednesday (July 11th), the Southern District of New York sent out a press release detailing the charges made against Shannade. The statement divulges that Shannade was arrested on “charges of wire fraud, access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft.  The Complaint charges that CLERMONT stole and fraudulently used the debit card information of a man she had visited for a prostitution date and who was found dead in his apartment the next morning from a drug overdose.”

According to the statement Shannade allegedly used the card details months after the mans death, making over $20,000 worth of purchases. If found guilty Clermont could face up to 20 years in prison for wire fraud, 15 years for access device fraud and a minimum of two years for aggravated identity theft.

The Clermont twins rose to popularity on Oxygen’s reality TV series Bad Girls Club. Though it was their campaign for Yeezy Season 6 — that was released in January this year— that skyrocketed them to fame. The campaign in question saw the twins act as a series of “clones”, recreating candid Kim Kardashian poses. The duo were also featured in Yeezy’s “Supermoon” campaign that was unleashed last month.
