Duke of George presents
Drawing on Mahamudo’s years of experience touring the world with leading Mozambique band Eyuphoro, who were one of the first bands signed to Peter Gabriel’s Real World Record Label, he has shared the stage with Salif keita, Kassav and Mano Dibango.
Mahamudo has written a whole album of his own songs in Soukouss, Highlife, Rumba, Marrabenta and Zouk styles. It’s totally danceable but also a feast for the ears.
For the second set of this show, Zukhuta will be joined by Quentin Thony, AKA, Queency, the great singer and exciting frontman from Reunion Island who was recently on The Voice.
Lucky Oceans adds his pedal steel guitar for a truly original touch, longtime Mahamudo collaborator John Wilson (The Wildes, Doo-Daddies) is on bass, Hardy Perrine on Drums and Marc Osborne on the sax.
Come see this groundbreaking band and experience the joy of their transcendent music firsthand.
