This exclusive Fremantle gig is the one and only chance to see Whitley in Western Australia

The Newport Hotel and 1897 Sessions Present WHITLEY - FIRST ACT FOR 1897 SESSIONS Established in 1897, The Newport Hotel in Fremantle is celebrating over 100 years of live music with a jaunt of special live acts known as the 1897 Sessions.

The first in the series is a solo show from Aussie favourite Whitley on Thursday, April 26. This exclusive Fremantle gig is the one and only chance to see Whitley in Western Australia. Its music to the ears of Whitley fans who were greatly distressed by an announcement in July 2010 stating, It's sad but true - after this tour, Whitley will be no more.

After the critically acclaimed debut record 'The Submarine' was released late in 2007, Whitley songs began to work their way into the world through almost every medium. Due to word of mouth and a dynamic live show, it wasn't long before he was playing sold out venues to loyal fans at home and abroad. In what seems a very short time Whitley has been voted as Rolling Stone Magazine's Top Ten Breaking Artist, completed endless sold-out Australian tours, played sold out shows across the USA and become a sweetheart of festival goers who generally get more than they bargained for. Shows varied from solo intimate acoustic shows to a six-piece band display of 'edgy power-pop on the verge of collapse'. Whitley is currently residing in London where he has just begun work on his third record.
