Sydney’s Velvet Trip have hit the ground running after a sold-out Australian tour supporting PARCELS and a new mesmerizing single ‘It’s Only Human’, marking an inter-dimensional sonic shift from the group.

Taking cues from boundary-pushing artists such as Parcels, Tame Impala and Temples, the band are breaking the psych rock mould in a new and enchanting fashion. ‘It’s Only Human’ is a whirr of spacey vocals and delicious guitar licks, accelerated by a driving beat.

The track landed instant high rotation on Triple J Unearthed, was selected by DRH as a top track of the week and scored handfuls of Spotify Editorial playlists. Complimenting the cosmic musicality of the piece, frontman Zeppelin Hamilton lyrically examines human connectivity and false hope. Speaking of the track, the proud Wiradjuri man says:

’It’s Only Human’ comes from a space of contemplation, introspection, and surrender; when ideologies that once felt safe now feel constrictive and the idols once followed now feel flawed. It is a comment on the human condition and the places we turn to put ourselves back together when all feels lost.”

‘It’s Only Human’ is the first release from the group since their debut EP, ‘Velvet Trip & the Six Moon Skies’, back in 2019, which would go on to amass hundreds of thousands of streams thanks to Spotify’s ‘Blak Australia’ and

‘Original Storytellers’ playlists. Heavy rotation on FBI radio and sold-out shows up and down the East Coast landed the band features in publications like RUSSH, Happy Mag, and LWA. They were also extended an honorary invite to showcase Maton Guitars' historical display at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum and have further gained an endorsement deal with Fender.
