Van Morrison Show perform at Shearwater

Fronted by Scottish-born singer/songwriter Steve Boyd, the band first emerged from Melbourne's Irish pub scene in the early 2000s. Following successful performances at the Port Fairy Folk Festival and the Byron Bay Blues Festival with his band The Preachers, Steve was approached by Molly Bloom’s Irish pub to perform a Van Morrison tribute set on St. Patrick’s Day. The show exceeded expectations and led to a monthly residency and numerous performances offers across Victoria.

Despite its success, Steve stepped back after a year, believing a tribute should always focus on the music. The band performed occasionally over the years, providing audiences with rare, memorable experiences of great music by passionate musicians. After a decade-long break, Steve reformed his tribute to Van Morrison and performed selected shows around Australia in 2023. With an outstanding 7 piece band, the show captures the essence of 1960s R&B and Van Morrison’s timeless hits, delivering soulful performances that leave a lasting impression.

The band celebrated a milestone with a headline show at The Astor Theatre in Perth in October 2023, following a series of sold-out performances in Melbourne, Tasmania, Fremantle, and Perth. Audiences of all ages enjoyed an engaging evening filled with dancing, singing, and a repertoire of beloved songs.

Supports commence 2.30pm.
