True Vibenation combine an irresistible blend of soul, afrobeat and hip hop backed by big bass, big beats and live horns. Drawn from their african heritage and raised in the cultural melting pot of Sydney, their sound takes influence in equal parts from Masego, Burna Boy and Rudamental as it does from Fela Kuti, Fat Freddys Drop and Outkast.
The spirit of community and conscious music lies at the heart of True Vibenation’s manifesto and it has earned them a reputation across the world for an electric and infectious live show, which includes all three artists singing, producing beats and playing horns live on stage.
The single ‘Squat’ with Haiku Hands was picked up by TV show ‘Good Girls’ and previous single ‘The World Is Ours’, hit #1 on Spotify’s viral chart for the UK, #15 in the US and #4 globally, collectively amassing over 1 million streams. Linking up with A.GIRL for the release of ‘More Than You’ll Ever Know’ saw them gain full auditions to both FBI Radio & Double J. Likewise, single ‘‘You Don’t Love Me (You Love My Guitar)’ saw True Vibenation getting a full addition to Double J leading ABC to commission them to write the new Weekends theme for Mornings with Dylan Lewis.
As community leaders, True Vibenation built a series of music workshops ‘Find Your Voice’, aimed at introducing young musicians to the world of music production and honing their skills. These workshops were highly praised and funded by the local government and have returned in 2023 to regional communities across Australia.
We acknowledge that this event is held on the stolen lands of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Elders, past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded.
