Event Details

The SUNSHINE BROTHERS have been playing their edge-of-the-earth, beach-side, bar-side, troublemaker take on dub/reggae/tropical sounds with the original line-up since 2005.
In what is their first organised run of dates since COVID and their first trip out of Western Australia since 2017 the SUNSHINE BROTHERS are very pleased to announce a nineteen date tour of WA, Spain and France in June and July 2023.
The aptly titled BEACH BUMS tour will see them bringing their legendary salty, sunny good times to coastal venues alongside the Atlantic (Pontevedra/Bilbao), the Indian Ocean (Busselton/Bunbury/Freo/Marg River) and the Mediterranean Sea (Antibes/Barcelona).
New music also starts to roll out from June with the epic four-part track ‘EARTH’ and a bunch of other live favourites they have been too lazy to record until now.

Along the wild eighteen year ride, SUNSHINE BROTHERS have played Australia, New Zealand, UK, Spain and USA and supported the likes of Lily Allen, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, Budos Band, Charles Bradley, Fat Freddys Drop, Beastie Boys, The Cat Empire, Calexico, Antibalas, Soul Jazz Orchestra, Roni Size, Salmonella Dub, Xavier Rudd, Ernest Ranglin, Depedro, Menahan Street Band, Gomez, Arrested Development, Mulatu Astatke, Los Coronas and many more.
They’ve released three albums recorded in Fremantle (‘Rebel Yellow’ LP), Spain (‘Red Alert’ LP) and New York (‘Greenpoint’ LP at Daptone with Gabe Roth) and are finally mobilising to record their very long awaited fourth album.
Reliable as ever, they have also anchored the world-famous Wave Rock Weekender Sunday night for seventeen years in what is always one of the most feelgood sets you can experience.

Rather than focus on content, industry, social media and videos, the Sunshine Brothers are an enigmatic and mystical force who have channelled their energy almost entirely into their live offering and the people in front of them.
For eighteen hilarious years and across hundreds of shows they’ve simply focussed on having and providing a good time with those present rather than engaging in the endless ways most bands try to suck the music industry’s massive cock.
Hopeless on administration, socials and videos but bringing nothing but joy and hope on stage. The chemistry between this band is a real feeling and it feels good.
If you need a good time or are looking for somewhere to leave your troubles at the door; The Brothers, as they are affectionately known, are it.
