SETTINGS° is proud to present Australian-born, Shanghai-based creative AMBER AKILLA, for an exclusive Sydney show this May.

AMBER AKILLA is a multi-disciplinary creative operating across music, fashion and media. Renowned for her eclectic music taste, and exceptional work in shaping the next generation of musical talent, Amber’s influence can be felt across the globe, with her event series ‘Friend Crush’ hosting events in Shanghai, Los Angeles, Taipei and Seoul. 

Alongside her events, Amber is a co-founder of DJ workshop NÜSHÙ 女术, an experimental creative platform focusing on inclusive spaces for female, female-identifying, non-binary, and LGBTQI individuals. The platform has garnered critical acclaim for providing a stepping-stone for emerging DJs, producers and creatives, featuring in PAPER Magazine and collaborating with brands and collectives such as Nike and Discwoman. 

Amber's unique taste-making ability is also referenced within her role as an active contributor to prominent media platform ‘HypeBae’, as well as in her solo music career, performing throughout Asia at events for Heron Preston, Takashi Murakami and Christina Paik, and as support alongside A$AP Nast, Brodinski, and Venus X.
