Emerging from the sparkling waters of Byron Bay, Seaside are a four piece rock band known for their electrifying live shows and tunes to make any crowd dance and thrash along. Featuring members Darcy Dexter (vocals), Chris Melross (drums), Tom Ketelaars (bass) and Kento Ami (guitar), the band have been wow-ing audiences across the country and beyond since their formation.

Seaside burst onto our musical landscape in 2018 with their effortlessly sublime single ‘Golden Girl’ which immediately propelled them onto the national festival and touring circuit. That year, based on the strength of Golden Girl, the band were selected by triple J Unearthed to open up the mainstage at festival Splendour In The Grass. Seaside have been touring and releasing music ever since. Across 3 EP’s and some standalone singles, the band’s expansive sound continues to evolve, and sees them garner legions of new fans and audiences across the globe in the process.

Seaside have toured the country with some of Australia’s biggest acts - including Angus & Julia Stone, Lime Cordiale, The Jungle Giants, Northeast Party House, Last Dinosaurs and many more - on some of the country's biggest stages. In 2023 they embarked on their biggest live undertaking yet, an extensive UK/EUR tour with Australian sensation Ocean Alley that saw them play to countless new fans and garner rave reviews wherever they went.

Through years of hard work performing on the road, the band have matured into a powerful live act, adding a daring flavour to the domestic festival scene, with a sound that could proudly be exported to international markets. Some time off the road during the pandemic gave Seaside some time to home in on their writing and refine their art with no distractions. This intensely creative period, along with the fiery, up-tempo new sound gave birth to an abundance of new material, including recent singles Were on Fire and Housewife.

For their latest single See Ya, the band recorded drums at Rocking Horse studio with engineer Paul Pilsonic, and at a private studio in Melbourne with producer and co-songwriter Tony Beliveau (Crash Kings). With mixing by Adam ‘’Atom’’ Greenspan (IDLES, Bloc Party, Arcade Fire) and mastering by Joe Bozzi (U2, Outcast, Fleetwood Mac), See Ya is a showcase for the hooky musicianship Seaside are coming to be known for.
